A Texas Girl

About me, I am originally born and raised in far West Texas, right on the border I was transplanted into the DC area by a series of very spontaneous and ironic events! While I do miss the hot Texas sun and my gorgeous tanned skin, 10 years later Washington, DC and the DMV area has now become my home. I am however still trying to get my tan back the natural way (but don't have time to sit in the sun all day), so if you have any ideas send them my way please!

I've always loved animals

At a very young age I was always attracted to and facinated with all types of animals. My Grandmother had a farm and I can remember feeding a calf and carrying a gigantic bottle with both hands to feed her, her name was Daisy. I also had a horse at one point, but I was too small to remember or completely enjoy that one. I have always seemed to have a bond and understand animals especially our dogs and cats. The life lessons and love they have given me over the years is priceless. When I am around animals I am happy and I am at peace.

Following my passion

I've had a variety of different jobs, to include working at two wonderful Veterinarian Hospital's one in NC and the other here in DC. While I did love working there, it was definitely more of a business and I didn't really get to work with the animals all that much. My work in the DMV has been government contract work and I just can't see myself strapped to a desk for the rest of my days. So one day, I decided to start in home pet sitting on Rover.com and I Ioved it, and my clients loved me back! Why don't I have pets of my own you ask? I took a break after I lost my two Goldens...and my apartment living and schedule dont really leave time or space for that right now. But, I have a handsome Beta fish and his name is Shadow. Did I mention that I love to bake? While in NC I used to make homemade dog treats which did very well. But I ended up having to move overseas for 2 years and couldn't continue my treat business. So after many requests and lots of convincing, I've combined them both together to form "Life is Pets" because my life has always been centered around my pets, and for my clientele I am sure it's the same. Animals are what I have always been passionate about and I am excited to begin this new, much happier journey with all of you. :)
